My goal is to make learning IT a fun, memorable experience, originating from the days when I was a Telephone Engineer, being “instructed” by egocentric authoritarians, and told not to step out of line while being taught. When I arrived in training by fluke rather than plan, I vowed that I would never behave like my predecessors and do my very best to make my sessions enjoyable!
I like to engage those in front of me, making them feel included in the learning process. I conduct sessions like a conversation with friends. Ask the attendees to make mistakes and learn from them. My humour is never planned, but spontaneous, never too much, as learning new skills and knowledge is key.
My training career started in systems training for a communications company. Thoroughly skilled up, I trained thousands in my 7 years in this role.
Redundancy struck, and I left to take a solo flight as a training professional, focusing on Microsoft Office. Seen a lot of changes over the last 25 years in MS Office, and it is that that has helped keep my focus and enjoyment which I hopefully pass on to those who attend a session with me.
